RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the Equity and Human Relations Advisory Committee (EHRAC): 1) discuss the Latino Heritage Month Event Celebration; 2) (if desired) Create an Ad Hoc Subcommittee, and appoint members thereto; 3) discuss and determine next steps; and 4) provide direction to staff as deemed appropriate.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
At the June 26, 2023, regular meeting, Chair Valverde achieved consensus to agendize this item during the July 24, 2023, regular meeting.
Latino Heritage Month begins September 15, 2023, and extends through October 15, 2023. Discussion to follow regarding planning a celebration to honor Latino Heritage Month with the Culver City community in October of 2023, or a date agreed upon by EHRAC.
The Equity and Human Relations Advisory Committee (EHRAC) previously held a Latino Heritage Month Celebration event on October 11, 2022, from 6 PM - 9 PM at the Culver City Senior Center.
