RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the Disability Advisory Committee (DAC) receive and file the report regarding the Disability Etiquette Manual created by Girl Scout Sophia Horton.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
The Gold Award is the highest achievement within the Girl Scouts of the USA, earned by Senior and Ambassador Girl Scouts. Only 5.4% of eligible Girl Scouts successfully earn the Gold Award. Local Girl Scout Sophia Horton approached the Disability Advisory Committee (DAC) in 2022 regarding creating a volunteer training manual for the annual Abilities Carnival and Resource Fair. Ms. Horton will be presenting Attachment 2 to the DAC explaining her manual, her research and her Gold Award Project experience.
