RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the Parks, Recreation and Community Services (PRCS) Commission conduct a weeknight tour of Veterans Memorial Park, Syd Kronenthal Park, and Fox Hills Park.
BACKGROUND / DISCUSSION
PRCS Director Armando Abrego and Recreation and Community Services (RCS) Manager Dani Cullens will accompany the members of the PRCS Commission on a weeknight tour of three Culver City parks and facilities ("Weeknight Parks Tour"). Members of the City Council of the City of Culver City have also been invited to attend.
On October 22, 2022, PRCS Director Abrego and RCS Manager Francisca Castillo accompanied the members of the PRCS Commission on a Saturday tour of Blair Hills Park, Lindberg Park, and Culver West Alexander Park. The Weeknight Parks Tour will continue some of the discussions started at that Parks Tour. One of the advantages of taking a weeknight tour of the parks, is that sports leagues and other users will be out on the ballfields. This will give Commissioners an opportunity to see how the ballfields are being utilized. In addition, there should be some evening racket sport court use at the parks that the Commissioners will be visiting.
