RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the City Council approve an amendment to the existing on-call agreements for Emergency Sewer Repair Services in an additional aggregate amount not-to-exceed $250,000, increasing the total aggregate amount to $850,000.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
On June 26, 2017 the City Council approved on-call agreements with five (5) sewer contractors in an aggregate amount not-to-exceed $600,000, for Emergency Sewer Repair Services through June 30, 2022.
The City utilizes sewer contractors to provide 24-hour, on-call emergency response for sewer repair services to supplement the City's Public Works Maintenance staff in the event of line blockages, damaged pipes or other sewer issues on an as-needed basis. Agreements are maintained with multiple sewer repair contractor firms who are contacted on an as-needed basis.
Due to the number of emergency sewer repair responses and their associated costs exceeding the existing contract amount, staff is requesting City Council approve an amendment to the existing agreements for an additional aggregate amount not-to-exceed $250,000 (from $600,000 to $850,000), to cover anticipated emergency repairs through June 30, 2022.
