RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends that the Parks, Recreation and Community Services (PRCS) Commission (1) select one or more dates for the 2018 Parks, Recreation and Community Services Commission Tour of Culver City Parks and Facilities ("Parks Tour"); and, (2) discuss the Parks Tour itinerary.


BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION

During past discussions of the Annual Parks Tour, PRCS Director Corey Lakin has recommended to the Commission that the Parks Tour take place in Summer months so that it can be scheduled in the early evening during one or more Commission meetings. There was consensus among the Commissioners that this is something that they are willing to try. In previous years, the Parks Tour was held on a Saturday and/or a Sunday during the Fall. It seems that such scheduling is no longer optimal as there has been a dip in attendance recently.

City Council Members, the City Manager and Culver City School District representatives are invited to join the Commission on these tours.
