RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the City Council (1) accept the work performed by Aldridge Electric Inc.; (2) authorize filing a Notice of Completion; and authorize the release of the retention funds in the amount of $153,682 after the expiration of the 35-day lien period, for the construction of the Traffic Monitoring CCTV System Gap Closure Project, PL-004.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
The City of Culver City was awarded funding by Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) for a Traffic Monitoring CCTV System Gap Closure Project, (the "Project").
On July 11, 2016 the City Council awarded the construction contract to Aldridge Electric Inc. (Aldridge) in an amount of $2,633,121 for the Construction of the Traffic Monitoring CCTV System Gap Closure Project, PL-004. The Project consists of the installation of 12 traffic monitoring CCCTV cameras and approximately four miles of fiber optic communication cable.
