RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends the City Council (1) appoint a Council Member to fill the vacancy on the Ad Hoc Oil Drilling Subcommittee; and (2) appoint a Council Member to serve as the alternate to the City's representative on the Los Angeles County Community Advisory Panel (CAP) for the Baldwin Hills Community Standards District.


BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION

The Ad Hoc Oil Drilling Subcommittee (Subcommittee), currently consists of Council Member Clarke and Council Member Sahli-Wells. The Subcommittee works cooperatively with staff, on an as-needed basis, during the processing of the Inglewood Oil Field Specific Plan Project.

In addition, Council Members Sahli-Wells serves as the City's representative on the CAP, and Council Member Clarke serves as the alternate. The CAP was established pursuant to the provisions of Los Angeles County's Baldwin Hills Community Standards District to foster communication regarding ongoing operations at the Inglewood Oil Field.
