RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends the Parks, Recreation and Community Services Commission (Commission) receive and file an informational item regarding the preliminary cost estimates and conceptual plans and for the addition of playground shade structures at Culver City parks.


BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION

At the September 5, 2017 meeting, the Commission requested that staff conduct research and present a report regarding options for the installation of shade structures at those Culver City playgrounds that are in need of shade. In hopes of presenting this information on site to participants of the September 22, 2017, Parks, Recreation and Community Services Commission Tour of Culver City Parks and Facilities (Parks Tour), staff prioritized this task above other pressing Fiscal Year 2017/2018 Work Plan responsibilities.
