RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends that the City Council (1) consider a recommendation by the Disability Advisory Committee (DAC) in support of adoption of the Resolution establishing DAC Bylaws; and (2) adopt the proposed Resolution if deemed appropriate.


BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION

Although the Culver City Disability Advisory Committee (DAC) has had Bylaws in place for several years, they were never formerly adopted by the City Council. When this came to the attention of the City Clerk's Office in mid-2014, the Senior and Social Services Division of the Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department, which provides administrative support to the DAC, was asked to coordinate the process of preparing the draft Bylaws with the DAC.

At the August 13, 2014 DAC meeting, the DAC discussed potential revisions to the Disability Advisory Committee Bylaws and created an Ad Hoc Subcommittee to prepare updated Bylaws for recommendation to the City Council. Committee members Alexander...
