RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the City Council and Cultural Affairs Commission receive an update on the Subcommittee's work pertaining to revising the structure of the Culver City Cultural Affairs Foundation.

BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
With recommendations from the Cultural Affairs Commission (CAC) and Cultural Affairs Foundation Board (CAF Board) as well as public comment, a subcommittee was formed in the fall of 2016 comprised of the following City Council, CAC and CAF Board members:
* Mayor Jim Clarke
* Council Member Thomas Small
* CAC Chair Len Dickter
* CAC Commissioner Jeannine Wisnosky Stehlin
* CAF Board Chair Celeste Anlauf
* CAF Board Vice Chair Ashley Rodgers
* CAF Member Brenda Williams


The purview of the subcommittee is to evaluate the structure of the Culver City Cultural Affairs Foundation (CAF) and whether the CAF could better fulfill its mission if operating as a separate entity from the City, similar to that of the Culver City Education Foundation.
The subcommittee has met three times (December 12, 2016; February 6, 2017; and, February 27, 2017), which meetings are subject to the Brown Act and have been open to the public.
