RECOMMENDATION

 

Staff recommends that the Planning Commission tour recently approved Planning Commission projects.

 

BACKGROUND / DISCUSSION

 

Community Development Director Sol Blumenfeld and Current Planning Manager Michael Allen will accompany the members of the Planning Commission on a tour of recent Planning Commission approved projects (“Recent Projects Tour”).  Members of the City Council are also invited to attend.

 

The meeting will begin in the Patacchia Room in City Hall, 9770 Culver Boulevard, Culver City, CA 90232, at 9:00 a.m., on Friday, May 17, 2019.  After briefly conducting other business, the tour will proceed from City Hall.  The order of the Recent Projects Tour may be subject to change, depending upon traffic conditions and other factors.  However, the planned itinerary is as follows:

 

1.                     Meet City Hall (Patacchia Room) (9:00AM)

2.                     Culver Steps (Washington Blvd and Culver Blvd) (9:30AM)

3.                     Access (8770 Washington Blvd) (10:15AM)

4.                     Tilden Terrace (11408 Washington Blvd) (11:00AM)

5.                     Oliver (11955 Washington Blvd) (11:45AM)

6.                     Wade Small Lot Subdivision (4118 Wade St) (12:30PM)

7.                     Baldwin Hotel (12803-12823 Washington Blvd) (1:15PM)

8.                     Return to City Hall (1:30PM)

 

The map of the tour route has been provided as Attachment 1.  A City bus is being provided for transportation and, if necessary, additional vehicles will also be utilized for the Recent Projects Tour.  Community Development Director, Sol Blumenfeld, and Current Planning Manager, Michael Allen, will take tour participants to sites of recent project approvals, answer questions, and provide information regarding a variety of issues relating to Culver City continuing development.

 

 

FISCAL ANALYSIS

 

It is anticipated that a one-day Recent Projects Tour will have a minimal impact on Community Development Department staffing and budgetary resources.
