RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that the Planning Commission select two committee members to serve on the Board of Zoning Adjustment (BZA) for the term of 12 months.
BACKGROUND:
Planning Commission Bylaws establish that at the first regular meeting after July 1, the Commission shall select the Commission Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson and make committee appointments by majority vote. Although the Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson were selected at the July 10 meeting, the committee appointments were continued to July 24, 2024 when all Commissioners would be in attendance.
DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS
Established under Section 3.03.235 of the Culver City Municipal Code, the Planning Commission appoints two of its members to hear appeals involving interpretation of the Zoning Ordinance; CCMC Title 17. Decisions of the BZA are appealable to the Planning Commission. The BZA meets as needed.
