RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends that the Disability Advisory Committee (DAC) receive and file the report regarding the PRCS Department's Senior Prom program at the Culver City Senior Center.

BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION

From 2013 through 2019, the Culver City Senior Citizens Association (CCSCA) collaborated with PRCS to produce the annual Senior Prom, a formal dance experience for ages 50 and over featuring light refreshments, live entertainment, dancing, and a photo booth. The event was held each year at the Culver City Senior Center, with up to 200 guests in attendance. The Prom was not held from 2020 through 2023 due to the Covid-19 pandemic but is being brought back for 2024. The CCSCA and PRCS are once again collaborating to bring this even to fruition.

Staff has scheduled this report to the DAC as an informational item to provide an update on plans and preparations for the 2024 Senior Prom program. The report will be presented by Recreation and Community Services Manager Francisca Castillo.
