RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends the City Council (1) approve an agreement with Reliable Monitoring Services, Inc. (RMS) to replace the Police Station Fire Alarm System and to maintain it for five years upon expiration of the new system's one-year parts and labor warranty in an amount not-to-exceed $227,751; and 2) approve an amendment to the existing professional services agreement with Coffman Engineers Inc., increasing it from $37,500 to $62,500 to oversee installation of the new fire alarm system; PZ132 Building Repairs.


BACKGROUND

The Police Station's existing fire alarm system is approximately two decades old, proprietary in nature, and comprised of a combination of Siemens and Simplex brand components including smoke detectors, audible alarms, visual strobes, pull stations, magnetic door closers, control panels, and ceiling sprinklers (the "System").
