RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the City Council (1) adopt a Resolution accepting $3,000 in 2022 Homeland Security Grant Program (HSGP) Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI) funds for overtime and backfill to attend fire ground survival training, and providing Proof of Authority of the governing body as required by the California Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES); and (2) approve a Budget Amendment to record the revenue of $3,000 and appropriation of $3,000 in Fiscal Year 2022/2023 for the UASI Grant Program (requires a four-fifths vote).
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
The purpose of the Homeland Security Grant Program UASI funds are to assist high-threat, high-density Urban Area efforts to build, sustain, and deliver the capabilities necessary to prevent, prepare for, protect against, and respond to acts of terrorism.
