RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends the Cultural Affairs Commission (CAC) (1) receive updates on the FY 2023-24 Cultural Affairs work plan in light of input and comments received during the February 21, 2023 CAC meeting.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION:
As was the case in prior years, each of the City's Commissions, Boards and Committees have an opportunity to provide input related to the budget and work plan before the City Manager presents his proposed budget to the City Council on Monday, May 8, 2023. The CAC reviewed updates to the FY 2022-2023 work plan and also the proposed FY 2023-2024 work plan at its meeting on February 21, 2023. Input and comments were received from representatives of the Culver City Arts Foundation (Culver Arts), members of the public, and commissioners. Staff will provide an update at the meeting on how some of that input is incorporated into the proposed work plan for next fiscal year as well as other related information.
The proposed FY 2023 - 2024 Work Plan as submitted to the City's Finance Department at the end of March was slightly amended from what was included in the February CAC meeting agenda:
