RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the Equity and Human Relations Advisory Committee (EHRAC) 1) discuss a new timeline for the EHRAC Awards, 2) determine next steps, and 3) provide direction to staff as deemed appropriate.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
In past years, the EHRAC Awards nomination process historically began toward the end of the calendar year with requests for nominations beginning in the Fall, with nominations closing at the end of December. During the start of the following calendar year, the Community Contributions Ad Hoc Subcommittee reviewed submissions and made recommendations for awards selection. The recommendations were then brought to the full committee for discussion for approval, and the recipients would receive the awards at an upcoming Council meeting in Spring or early Summer.
At the January 24, 2023, regular meeting, the committee achieved consensus to agendize this item. At the March 28, 2023, meeting, the committee will discuss the possibility of a new timeline for the EHRAC Awards.
FISCAL ANALYSIS
There are not costs associated with discussion of this item.
