RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the Disability Advisory Committee (DAC) (1) Review and Discuss the Draft Nomination Form for Disability Awareness Month Commendations; (2) Recommend Revisions, If Any; and (3) (If Desired) Approve the Nomination Form for Use Beginning in 2023.
BACKGROUND / DISCUSSION
Each year the Disability Advisory Committee (DAC) selects recipients of a commendation from City Council during Disability Awareness Month in October. The recipients are selected based on nominations submitted by the community.
At the September 14, 2022 meeting the nominations for 2022 were read and voted on by members. During that discussion the nomination form categories were considered, and the DAC members asked to potentially add new categories or adjust the existing ones for 2023.
Staff has prepared this report to give the Disability Advisory Committee an opportunity to review, discuss and revise the Disability Awareness Month Commendation Nomination Form (Attachment 1). The proposed timeline is that the final form will be approved by the DAC at the April 12, 2023 m...
