RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the Equity and Human Relations Advisory Committee (EHRAC): 1) receive a report from the Understanding and Responding to Autism Event ad hoc Subcommittee; 2) consider approval of any of the recommendations from the subcommittee and determine next steps; and 3) provide direction to staff as deemed appropriate.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
At the October 25, 2022 regular meeting, the EHRAC formed the Understanding and Responding to Autism Event Ad Hoc Subcommittee to plan for the upcoming public event, Understanding and Responding to Autism, scheduled for March 28, 2023. At the December 13, 2022 special meeting, the committee agendized this item to receive a report from the ad hoc subcommittee to discuss, plan, and consider approval of any recommendations for the event. At the January 24, 2023 regular meeting, the ad hoc subcommittee will provide a report to the committee. At this time the Ad Hoc subcommittee is still in the preliminary planning stages.
