RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the Parks, Recreation and Community Services (PRCS) Commission receive and file the report regarding Culver City Summer Camp 2022.
BACKGROUND
The PRCS Director has scheduled this report to the PRCS Commission as an informational item. A video highlighting Culver City Summer Camp 2022 will be shown at the meeting. The video is being presented by Recreation and Community Services Coordinator Jacob (Jake) Bakke.
DISCUSSION
Here is an overview of tonight's report on Culver City Summer Camp 2022:
2022 Summer Camps ran from June 13 through August 12 (9 weeks).
* J4K Day Camp- Veteran's Memorial Park
o 100 participants a week
o Each week was themed
* Examples include "Welcome to Hollywood", "Animal Kingdom", "Imagination Exploration", and "Superhero" along with others
o Partnered with the Culver City Pool for swimming on Tuesdays for 1hour and 30 minutes
* J4K Sports Camp- Lindberg Park
o 60 participants a week
o Each week was themed
* Learned the basics and competed in tournaments of "Flag Football", "Basketball", "Soccer", "Volleyball", "Camp Games" and more
o Partnered with the Culver City Pool for swimming on Fridays for 1 hour and 30 minutes
* J4K Jr. Camp- El Marino Park
o 30 participants a week
o Each week was themed
