RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the Parks, Recreation and Community Services (PRCS) Commission conduct a tour of Blair Hills Park, Lindberg Park, and Culver West Alexander Park.
BACKGROUND / DISCUSSION
PRCS Director Armando Abrego and Recreation and Community Services (RCS) Manager Francisca Castillo will accompany the members of the PRCS Commission on a tour of three Culver City parks and facilities (“Parks Tour”). Members of the City Council of the City of Culver City have also been invited to attend.
The meeting will begin outside the rear entrance of the Veterans Memorial Building, 4117 Overland Avenue, Culver City, CA 90230, at 10 AM, on Saturday, October 22, 2022. The Registration Office can be accessed through this entrance. The Parks Tour itinerary is subject to change, depending upon traffic conditions and other factors. Time allowing, the Parks Tour will include visits to the following parks and parkettes:
1. Blair Hills Park
2. Lindberg Park
3. Culver West Alexander Park
4. Return to Veterans Memorial Building
Director Abrego and RCS Manager Castillo will take tour participants to sites of recent and upcoming projects, answer questions, and provide information regarding a variety of issues relating to the specific Culver City parks and facilities. The Map of Culver City Parks and Recreation Facilities is provided as Attachment 1. The parks are numbered next to the map with the corresponding park number appearing in a black circle on the map at its location. This year, transportation is not being provided. Carpooling is encouraged for those who feel comfortable making such arrangements.
FISCAL ANALYSIS
It is anticipated that a one-day Parks Tour will have a minimal impact on PRCS Department staffing and budgetary resources.
