RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends that the Disability Advisory Committee (DAC) (1) review and discuss the draft Community Survey regarding Persons with Disabilities; and (2) recommend revisions to the draft Survey, as deemed appropriate.

BACKGROUND / DISCUSSION

One of the items on the 2022-2023 work plan for the Disability Advisory Committee (DAC) is an initial needs assessment survey of the disabled population in Culver City.

At the August 10, 2022, meeting, DAC members were asked to bring and discuss potential questions for the survey. During discussion at that meeting it was agreed by DAC members that this initial survey should be quite broad and open ended so that staff and DAC members could see what initial feedback is received and focus efforts based on the responses.

Staff has prepared this report to give the Disability Advisory Committee an opportunity to review, discuss and revise the attached draft survey. The proposed timeline is that the final survey will be approved by the DAC at the December 14, 2022, meeting and the survey would be sent out at the beginning of 2023.

FISCAL ANALYSIS

There is no fiscal impact associated with the discussion of this Agenda item.
