RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the Cultural Affairs Commission select, by majority vote, a Chairperson and Vice Chairperson to serve in that capacity until the next reorganization in July 2023 or thereafter.
BACKGROUND & PROCEDURE
At the special meeting on June 6, 2022, the City Council considered six (6) applications for the Cultural Affairs Commission.
Ehsaan Mesghali was appointed as a new Commissioner to Seat 5 (replacing Zoltan Pali) for a First Term (July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2026). The City Clerk confirmed that Commissioner Mesghali attended Brown Act and Ethics Training on June 17, 2022 and was administered the Oath of Office at that meeting.
Chair Fleischer shall preside over the meeting and take nominations for the selection of a new Chair and Vice Chair for Fiscal Year 2022-2023. The newly selected Chair shall preside over the meeting upon the conclusion of this agenda item.
