RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the Cultural Affairs Commission (CAC): (1) Dissolve the Ad Hoc 2022 Culver City Performing Arts Grant Program Subcommittee; (2) Create the Ad Hoc 2023 Culver City Performing Arts Grant Program Subcommittee and an Ad Hoc Art in Vacant Storefronts/Businesses Subcommittee; and (3) Assign Commissioners to Ad Hoc and Standing Subcommittees for Fiscal Year 2022-2023.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION:
At its first regular meeting in July of each year, the Cultural Affairs Commission typically reviews its subcommittees considering the City Council adopted budget and work program for Cultural Affairs for the coming year, and two Commissioners are assigned to two or more of the CAC's subcommittees.
Subcommittee meetings are held on an as-needed basis, with some subcommittees meeting as frequently as every month and others only once or twice over the course of a year. In general, "ad hoc" subcommittees serve only a limited or single purpose, are not perpetual, and are dissolved when their specific task is completed.
