RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the Equity and Human Relations Advisory Committee (1) discuss the report from the Juneteenth Ad Hoc Subcommittee regarding the Juneteenth program in June 2022; (2) consider approval of the report's recommendations and determine next steps; and (3) provide direction to staff if deemed appropriate.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
During the March 22, 2022 regular meeting, the Equity and Human Relations Advisory Committee formed a Juneteenth Ad Hoc Subcommittee and appointed members thereto. The committee members comprised of the Juneteenth Ad Hoc Subcommittee include Chair Rebecca Rona, member Haifaa Moammar, and member Samia Bano.
The Juneteenth Ad Hoc Subcommittee is planning a celebration of Juneteenth. The Ad Hoc Subcommittee will present the draft event program and logistics during the April 26, 2022 regular meeting to the entire committee.
