RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the Equity and Human Relations Advisory Committee (EHRAC): (1) discuss the report from the Community Contributions Ad Hoc Subcommittee regarding the Community Contributions Award Nominees and Medallions; (2) consider recommending the designated nominees to City Council for receipt of the Award Medallions; and (3) provide direction to staff if deemed appropriate.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
During the March 22, 2022 regular meeting, the Community Contributions Ad Hoc Subcommittee presented the scoring sheet and scoring rubric for each of the nominations submitted. The Ad Hoc Subcommittee received twenty-three (23) nominations to review.
The Community Contributions Ad Hoc Subcommittee has read and reviewed all the nominations submitted. The Ad Hoc Subcommittee determined there are no qualifying applicants in the Business Award category. There are two nominees for the Non-Profit Award and there is one nominee for the Individual Award. The Ad Hoc Subcommittee will be requesting the entire Committee to vote to recommend a nominee to City Council for the Non-Profit Award category during the April meeting.
The production of the medallion is currently in process and should be finalized in April 2022. The medallion will be engraved with the recipient’s name, award category, and the award year. The Ad Hoc Subcommittee is planning to receive the medallions and finalize the award recipients during the Equity and Human Relations Advisory Committee’s regular meeting in April.
The awards will be presented to the award recipients during the June 13, 2022 City Council meeting.
