RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the Equity and Human Relations Advisory Committee (EHRAC) (1) discuss the expansion of the existing Ad Hoc Subcommittee's by adding additional committee members thereto; and (2) (if desired) appoint members thereto; and (3) provide direction to staff if deemed appropriate.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
At the July 27, 2021 regular meeting, Chair Rebecca Rona received consensus to agendize this item on the August 24th regular meeting agenda. The purpose of this agenda item is to consider the expansion of the existing Ad Hoc Subcommittees by adding additional members thereto. There are currently thirteen (13) existing Ad Hoc Subcommittees in place. Below is the list of the existing Ad Hoc Subcommittees:
1. Asian American Storytelling Ad Hoc Subcommittee
2. Childhood and Equity Community Conversation Ad Hoc Subcommittee
3. Civil Discourse Workshop Ad Hoc Subcommittee
4. Community Contributions Ad Hoc Subcommittee
5. Educational Materials Ad Hoc Subcommittee
6. Indigenous People's Day Celebration Ad Hoc Subcommittee
