BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION

Culver City's Public Works Department applied for and was awarded a state grant for the development of a Local Road Safety Plan (LRSP) for the purpose of assessing safety conditions citywide and recommending an action plan covering infrastructure and non-infrastructure improvements. TJKM Consultants were retained to assist staff with the development of the Draft LRSP.

Some of the Draft LRSP recommendations have already been featured in numerous recent grant applications and the City has been awarded three of the Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) grants.

The Draft LRSP was circulated for review and feedback to multiple City departments, Bicycle & Pedestrian Advisory Committee, Culver City Unified School District, Walk n Roller School Safety Program, Bike Culver City, and Women on Bikes. TJKM then made revisions to the Draft LRSP based on this feedback.
