BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
In light of recent events of violence and hatred against the AAPI community, Members Grimes, Valverde and Rona collaborated in drafting a statement condemning hatred and violence towards the Asian American and Pacific Islander community. Chair Rona read the statement to EHRAC at the March 23, 2021 meeting during the "items from Committee members" portion of the meeting. Chair Rona obtained consensus to have the item placed on the April 27th agenda. This item is before the EHRAC to discuss adoption of the statement by the EHRAC.
