RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends that the Parks, Recreation and Community Services (PRCS) Commission observe the administration of the Oath of Office to newly appointed PRCS Commission Member Khary Cuffe.

BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION

On March 8, 2021, the City Council appointed Khary Cuffe to PRCS Commission Seat Number 5, to both (1) complete the current eight-month partial term expiring on June 30, 2021; and (2) complete the next full four-year term appointment.  Since PRCS Commission Member Cuffe’s term continues through June 30, 2025, Seat 5 will not be included in this year’s annual appointments in June, unless vacated prior to that time.  The partial term is not considered a full term, as it is less than two years, so PRCS Commission Member Cuffe is eligible for reappointment in 2025.

At this evening’s meeting, the Commission Secretary will administer the Constitutional and Loyalty Oaths to the newly appointed Commission Member.  Arrangements will be made for both parties to sign a duplicate original of the document.  Commission Member Cuffe will then be given one of the signed documents.
