COMMENDATION

 

Julie Zatz was appointed to the Civil Service Commission (Commission) by the City Council on July 1, 2020.  Ms. Zatz served a shorten term due to her passing in October 2020.

 

Ms. Zatz was a thirty-year resident of the City of Culver City (City) and her appointment to the Commission was her first volunteer position with the City.  In her professional life, Ms. Zatz served our Country for thirty years as an Assistant United States Attorney, as part of the Office of the United States Attorney in California. 

 

During her tenure as a Commissioner, Ms. Zatz proved to be an insightful and contributing member of the Commission.  She attended the Commission’s regular meetings as well as a number of Special meetingsMs. Zatz’s brief time on the Commission is appreciated by City Council, members of the Civil Service Commission and staff.

 

Ms. Zatz’s was fond of her dogs, and made it known to staff that she had her dogs walking on a dog-treadmill during Commission meetings.  Her colleagues and former legal externs witnessed her dedication and commitment to serving as an Assistant United States Attorney. 

 

The Commission will be remembering Ms. Zatz for her service to the City of Culver City.
