RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the Finance Advisory Committee (FAC) receive and discuss the recommendation from the Government Efficiency Subcommittee for the establishment of a City Innovation Award Program for transmittal to the appropriate Body/Department.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
The Work Plan of the Finance Advisory Committee includes the aim to research and encourage program to incentivize/recognize staff for ideas or programs that generate cost-savings, revenue-enhancements or improve municipal efficiency.
As part of this goal, the FAC created a Government Efficiency Subcommittee to coordinate efforts in examining and providing updates on this work plan item. At this meeting, the Subcommittee will be presenting a proposal for acceptance for the Committee at large for an Innovation Awards Program, including an application process and program schedule.
