RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the Equity & Human Relations Advisory Committee (EHRAC) continue to (1) discuss and approve the Fiscal year 20/21 Work Plan; (2) discuss the Ad Hoc Outreach Subcommittee’s recommendations to Secure Public Input in the development of the Work Plan; (3) discuss the possible creation of Subcommittees; (4) (if desired) create subcommittees; (5) (if desired) appoint members to such subcommittees; and (6) direct staff to submit the work plan to City Council for approval, as appropriate.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
At its first regular meeting on July 28, 2020, the EHRAC began discussions of a Work Plan for the Fiscal year 2020/2021. At that initial meeting, the EHRAC members also created and appointed members to an Ad Hoc Outreach Subcommittee, to research ways to secure public input in the development of its Work Plan. Attached is the Ad Hoc Outreach Subcommittee’s report and survey.
At the August 25, 2020 meeting, the EHRAC will continue its discussion and development of its Work Plan. In addition, if desired, after formulating the Work Plan, the EHRAC may wish to discuss if any standing or ad hoc subcommittees are necessary to assist in research and/or planning to implement the Work Plan. After development of the work plan, and consensus by the EHRAC, staff will submit the Work Plan to City Council, for approval at a City Council meeting.
