RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends the City Council adopt a resolution (1) approving Culver City's participation in the Los Angeles Urban County Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program for the period commencing July 1, 2021 and ending June 30, 2024; and (2) authorizing the Mayor or his designee to execute a Cooperation Agreement with the County of Los Angeles related to CDBG funds.


BACKGROUND / DISCUSSION

The 1974 Housing Act authorized the allocation of block grants to eligible applicant municipalities nationwide to be used for activities that benefit low- and moderate-income persons, subject to program regulations and eligibility criteria. The program is administered by the Los Angeles County Development Authority (the County). Culver City (the City) participates in the CDBG program as a member of the Los Angeles Urban County Entitlement.
