RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the Parks, Recreation and Community Services (PRCS) Commission discuss the Community Conversation Topics Survey responses.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
On April 18, 2018, the Commission hosted Community Conversation - Topic #8, titled "Everyone Deserves to Feel Safe." "Everyone Deserves to Feel Safe," was a peer-led Community Conversation for teens to discuss and gain information regarding the cycle of sexual violence. Teen peer educators from "The Talk Project," an interactive program sponsored by the National Council of Jewish Women | Los Angeles, facilitated the discussion. At June 5, 2018 meeting Community, Conversation Ad Hoc Subcommittee Members Commissioners Amezola and Mohammed presented a report on the event, including the results of the "Post Community Conversation Evaluation Form." Since the Members of Community Conversation - Topic #8 Ad Hoc Subcommittee had successfully accomplished their goal, the Ad Hoc Subcommittee was then dissolved.
