RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the City Council consider a request by the Culver Hotel (Hotel) to waive fees associated with the use of Parcel B for "The Centennial Finale" event, which took place at the Culver Hotel in Town Plaza on Saturday, September 23, 2017.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
On August 8, 2017, the City Council approved sponsorship for "The Centennial Finale" event (Event) and when doing so waived $1,081 in Event fees.
On September 18, 2017, staff received a request from the Culver Hotel to use Parcel B (9300 Culver Boulevard) to provide valet parking for the Event. Staff informed the Hotel of the required $2,000 per day rental fee and $1,000 refundable deposit. The Hotel requested that the fee be waived and staff advised that such waivers must be considered by the City Council.
FISCAL ANALYSIS
The amount of the requested fee waiver associated with the use of Parcel B for valet parking is $2,000. If approved as requested, the amount of sponsorship for the Event will be $3,081.
