RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends the Parks, Recreation and Community Services Commission (PRCSC) (1) hear public comment on Option 1 and Option 2 for the Veterans Memorial (Vets) Park Age 5 - 12 Playground Equipment Replacement Project; and, (2) [if desired] make a recommendation to the City Council regarding the preferred playground equipment option to install at the Park.


BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION

On February 13, 2017, the City Council (1) accepted $195,030.35 in Los Angeles County Proposition A Maintenance and Servicing Excess (M&SE) Funds awarded to the City of Culver City; (2) approved a budget amendment to appropriate $187,000 of the funding for Veterans Memorial Park 5 - 12 Playground Equipment Replacement Project; and, (3) approved a budget amendment to appropriate the remaining $8,030.35 to partially fund the Fiscal Year 2016-2017 Haynes Custodial Contract for the Culver City Senior Center.
