RECOMMENDATION

Staff requests that the Bicycle & Pedestrian Advisory Committee (BPAC) provide input on public participation for the upcoming Bicycle & Pedestrian Action Plan.

BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION

The City is embarking on an 18-month process to generate a citywide Bicycle & Pedestrian Action Plan. This new plan will update and build on the 2010 Bicycle & Pedestrian Master Plan. The Action Plan will also include a Vision Zero analysis and make recommendations to reduce fatal and serious injury collisions in Culver City. Finally, the Action Plan will develop up to three specific projects identified as high priorities through the analysis and public process. The BPAC is the primary advisory body for the development of this plan.

The City has contracted with Alta Planning & Design to complete the Action Plan. Fehr & Peers is a subconsultant focused on Vision Zero. Tonight, Alta and Fehr & Peers will present their scope of work and schedule to the BPAC and seek input on their approach to public participation throughout the Action Plan process. The scope of work and schedule are attached.
