RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends: 1) That the Cultural Affairs Commission (CAC) receive updates pertaining to the Creative Economy Report since the April 18, 2017 Joint City Council / Cultural Affairs Commission meeting and consider these together with the information and recommendations from the joint meeting; and, 2) (As Desired) Appoint a second commissioner to the CAC's Ad Hoc Creative Economy Report Subcommittee.


BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION

Presentations of the Creative Economy Report of Culver City were made to the CAC on March 21, 2017 and to the City Council on April 11, 2017. On April 18, 2017, the City Council and the CAC held a joint meeting at which time it was agreed that a short- and long-term action plan should be developed and that the CAC would work in conjunction with the City Council's Economic Development Subcommittee in making those recommendations.

The CAC's July meeting is typically when newly appointed or re-appointed Commissioners are sworn in, and a Chair and Vice Chair are elected for the new fiscal year.
