RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the City Council adopt an ordinance amending Title 7, Traffic Code, Chapter 7.04, Bicycles, of the Culver City Municipal Code (CCMC), by repealing and reserving Sections 7.04.200 through 7.04.245, 7.04. 255, 7.04.300 through 7.04.310, and 7.04.415, related to bicycle regulation, in order to eliminate conflicts and redundancies with the California Vehicle Code.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
On March 16, 2017, the Bicycle & Pedestrian Advisory Committee adopted a motion recommending to the City Council approval of the proposed ordinance amending Title 7, Traffic Code, Chapter 7.04, Bicycles, of the Culver City Municipal Code (CCMC), by repealing and reserving Sections 7.04.200 through 7.04.245, 7.04. 255, 7.04.300 through 7.04.310, and 7.04.415, related to bicycle regulation, in order to eliminate conflicts and redundancies with the California Vehicle Code.
At the City Council meeting of March 27, 2017, the City Council unanimously approved introduction of the proposed ordinance. The proposed ordinance is brought back tonight for adoption by the City Council.
