RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends the Cultural Affairs Commission (CAC) review the proposed FY 2017-18 Cultural Trust Fund (CTF) budget for Cultural Affairs and provide comments as appropriate.

BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION:
As was the case last year, in calendar year 2017, each of the City's Commissions/Committees/Boards have an opportunity to provide staff and the City Manager with input related to the budget for FY 2017-18 before the City Manager presents his proposed budget to the City Council on May 8, 2017. The City Council is scheduled to receive individual department presentations on next year's proposed budget and work plans in May and June. The FY 2017-18 City budget is scheduled for adoption on June 26, 2017. CAC members and the public are welcome to attend any of these meetings.
The CAC received a detailed update on FY 2016-17 work plans at its meeting on February 21, 2017. In addition, at the March 6, 2017 Special Meeting of the City Council, Cultural Affairs provided an update of current year and FY 2017-18 proposed work plans as part of the new Administrative Services Department presentation (this department includes the City Clerk, Cultural Affairs, and Human Resources).
