RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends that the Cultural Affairs Foundation Board ("Board") receive information on the proposed FY 2017-2018 Cultural Affairs work plan and Cultural Trust Fund Budget.

BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION

In light of the Cultural Affairs Foundation's mission and purpose, an understanding of the Cultural Affairs budget and work plan is necessary in order for the Board to set goals and priorities for the coming year. This also allows the Board an opportunity to provide input on the FY 2017-2018 budget and work plan as it is being developed.
Staff will provide a summary draft budget for FY 2017-2018 at the meeting and review this with the Board; the document will be similar to what was provided in previous years.
In preparation, the Board may wish to view the video of the February 21, 2017 Cultural Affairs Commission meeting where staff provided a comprehensive mid-year work plan update. In addition, at the March 6, 2017 Special Meeting of the City Council, Cultural Affairs provided an update of current year and FY 2017-2018 proposed work plans as part of the new Administrative Services Department presentation (this department includes the City Clerk, Cultural Affairs, and Human Resources).
