RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends the City Council adopt a Resolution approving an encroachment agreement with AT&T for use of Culver City public right-of-way to install fiber optic cable in the area along Washington Boulevard and Tilden Avenue.


BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION

AT&T is proposing to install a new fiber optic pathway to close the gap near the intersection of Washington Boulevard and Tilden Avenue.

The work involves installation of conduit along Washington Boulevard starting 91 feet east of the intersection of Washington Boulevard/Prospect Avenue and heading west for 298 feet to Washington Boulevard/Tilden Avenue, and then turning south into Tilden Avenue for 210 feet, and then west for 15 feet and then up the existing utility pole adjacent to the alley just south of Washington Boulevard. All work will be under ground and installed by directional boring.

The total distance of the new installation in the public right-of-way is 523 linear feet. There are no new utility poles proposed along the route.
