RECOMMENDATION

Staff requests that the Bicycle & Pedestrian Advisory Committee (BPAC) provide input on the Bike Share Feasibility Study goals/objectives and service area.

BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION

In September, the City commenced work on a Bike Share Feasibility to assess the potential to bring a bike share system to Culver City. The study scope includes setting goals and objectives, recommending a system size and service area, and evaluating costs and benefits of potential systems and technologies.

At the September 8th BPAC meeting, staff solicited input from committee members and the public on potential goals and objectives. The draft goals and objectives that emerged from that discussion are attached.

Tonight, the BPAC will receive a presentation from the consultant that includes a draft recommendation for system size and service area. The consultant will also discuss next steps in the study, including the financial modeling of different potential systems.

Staff anticipates returning to BPAC in January with a final recommendation on how to proceed with bike share.
