RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends the City Council Adopt a Resolution Establishing Various Fees Relating to Massage Establishment Permits Pursuant to Culver City Municipal Code Chapter 11.07.
BACKGROUND / DISCUSSION:
At its meeting of September 26, 2016, the City Council (by a vote of 5-0) adopted an Ordinance (1) repealing and replacing Chapter 11.07 of Title 11 of the Culver City Municipal Code pertaining to massage business regulations; and (2) amending Section 11.01.305 of Chapter 11.01 of the Culver City Municipal Code regarding the Schedule of Businesses Requiring a Certificate of Compliance or Permit.
The new Ordinance contains provisions for the City Council, by resolution, to establish fees pertaining to the administration of the regulations of massage establishments. The fees established are based upon the reasonable cost of providing the services and regulatory activity for administering the massage establishment permit system.
FISCAL ANALYSIS:
