RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends the City Council (1) approve an amendment to the Westside Cities Council of Governments (WSCCOG) Joint Powers Authority (JPA) Agreement; and (2) provide direction to the City's Representatives on the WSCCOG Board as deemed appropriate.


BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION

The WSCCOG is comprised of the Cities of Beverly Hills, Culver City, Santa Monica and West Hollywood in addition to portions of the City and County of Los Angeles. The WSCCOG was originally formed to address the growing need for these jurisdictions to develop and implement their own subregional policies and plans, which required a more representative and formalized structure. As such, the founders of the WSCCOG determined that a subregional organization was required to assist in planning and coordinating among the Westside cities for the furtherance of the public interest, necessity, and convenience.
