RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends that the Cultural Affairs Commission (CAC) select a second Commissioner to serve on the Public Art Subcommittee for Fiscal Year 2016-2017.

BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION:

At the regular meeting of July 19, 2016, the Cultural Affairs Commission reviewed its subcommittees in light of the City Council adopted budget and work program for Cultural Affairs for the coming year and made adjustments to those subcommittees as appropriate.  The CAC then made subcommittee assignments as follows:

AD HOC:

2017 Culver City Performing Arts Grant Program  -

Jeannine Wisnosky Stehlin / John B. Williams

Culver City Creative Economy Report - Rich Cherry / Len Dickter

Historic Preservation Ordinance and Program Update - Len Dickter / Zoltan Pali

Artist Laureate - Jeannine Wisnosky Stehlin / John B. Williams

STANDING:

Public Art - Zoltan Pali / John B. Williams

Subsequent to the meeting, Commissioner Williams contacted staff saying that he would like to offer the opportunity to serve on the Public Art Subcommittee to another Commissioner as three subcommittee assignments was more than his schedule would permit. Hence, staff is bringing back this item to the CAC so that another commissioner can be selected to serve with Commissioner Pali on the Public Art Subcommittee for Fiscal Year 2016-2017.

FISCAL ANALYSIS:

At this time there is no additional fiscal impact associated with this action item.
