RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the Parks, Recreation and Community Services (PRCS) Commission elect the Chair and Vice Chair of the Commission.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
Reappointment of Mr. William Rickards to the PRCS Commission
At their June 13, 2016 meeting, the City Council unanimously reappointed Mr. William Rickards to the PRCS Commission. Since Mr. Rickards is unable to attend tonight's meeting, the administration of the Oath of Office has been postponed to the August 2, 2016 PRCS Commission meeting.
Election of the Chair and Vice Chair
At the first regular meeting in July of each year, the PRCS Commission selects a Chair and Vice Chair. Commission does not have a formal policy for the election of the Chair and Vice Chair. Traditionally the Vice Chair becomes the Chair and the Member with the most seniority becomes the Vice Chair. However, election of Chair and Vice Chair is at the discretion of the Commission Members.

The current Chair announces that this is the time and place to receive nominations for Chair, calls for nominations, closes the nominations, and calls for the vote.
