COMMENDATION

Richard Ochoa was appointed to the Civil Service Commission (Commission) by the City Council on July 1, 2008. After serving four years he was reappointed to a second term on July 1, 2012.

During his tenure, Mr. Ochoa has proven to be a valuable and reliable resource. He served as Chair and Vice-Chair of the Commission where he demonstrated to be a fair leader. In addition to the countless hours spent at meetings and hearings, he also served as an Ad-Hoc Subcommittee member in the comprehensive review and subsequent amendments to the Civil Service Rules. He was also key in assisting with the development of pre-hearing appeal procedures which will greatly assist in expediting the appeal process.

Mr. Ochoa’s insight, dedication and commitment to the community is appreciated by City Council, members of the Civil Service Commission and staff.

The Commission will be presenting Mr. Ochoa with a commendation in appreciation for his service to the City of Culver City.
