RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the City Council adopt a Resolution declaring an end to the fiscal emergency declared on April 4, 2025 (Attachment).
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
On April 14, 2025, the City Council declared a fiscal emergency based on the City Manager’s projections that, without a significant increase in revenue, the City would not be able to provide critical services to the public at satisfactory levels. The voters approved a Transactions and Use tax increase of ¼ cent per dollar spent at a special election held on August 26, 2025. The City adopted Ordinance No. 2025-012 which amended Chapter 3.08 of the Culver City Municipal Code to establish that tax increase, which has since been implemented.
The City Manager recommends the City Council formally declare an end to the fiscal emergency based on this significant increase in tax revenue.
FISCAL ANALYSIS
There is no fiscal impact associated with declaring the end of to the fiscal emergency declared on April 4, 2025.
